In this paper, we conduct an analysis of neological constructions with the element eco- using a corpus of neologisms from the Neology Observatory of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). The study aims to describe the different constructions to determine whether rules of word formation are one or multiple and what is the role of analogy in this process. Our findings indicate that ‘eco-’ has evolved into a brand associated with ecology and the environment. This suggests that the unit has undergone various analogy processes, leading to its grammaticalization and a shift from a lexical to a more functional and abstract role.
