CALL FOR PROPOSALS: THEMATIC ISSUE
Revista Signos. Estudios de Lingüística is pleased to announce its call for proposals for the publication of a full thematic issue.
Manuscripts must align with the journal’s focus areas, which include psycholinguistics, discourse linguistics, applied linguistics, and computational linguistics.
This special section aims to highlight emerging trends, critical debates, and innovative research within the field of linguistics and its subfields. Therefore, we encourage the submission of manuscripts that explore diverse perspectives and methodologies related to the proposed theme.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
Research Focus
The thematic issue must be aligned with the journal’s scope. Proposals must follow the journal's submission guidelines and clearly fall within its linguistic areas of interest.
Responsibilities of Guest Editors
Guest editors are expected to:
- Propose a general title for the thematic issue
- Provide an overview of the state of the art in the selected topic
- Justify the relevance of the topic within current linguistic research
Guest editors must submit a description of up to 1,000 words, including:
Summaries of each research: Each manuscript must include a 300-word abstract outlining the research focus, methodology, and findings, along with author names and institutional affiliations.
Limitations for Guest Editors
Guest editors may contribute as authors or co-authors to only one manuscript within the issue.
Limitations for Authors
Authors must not have published in Revista Signos. Estudios de Lingüística during the current year, the upcoming year, or in the two years preceding the publication of the thematic issue.
Double-Blind Peer Review Process
All manuscripts will undergo the same rigorous double-blind peer review process as regular submissions.
Author Diversity
The thematic issue must include authors from diverse institutions, and whenever possible, from different countries.
Number of research studies
The thematic issue section may include up to 8 manuscripts (in Spanish or English), in addition to the introduction written by the guest editors. We recommend reviewing previously published thematic sections at:

The thematic issue will be published in one of our three annual issues, either in the current or upcoming year, depending on the editorial and peer review timelines.
